| | There's still racism in New York...I have to give props to my mom, for yesterday. So apparently there's still racism even in New York. Sure I always knew there were people who were racist, but seriously, New York is way open.
So my mom was shopping in D'Agastino, trying to find a certain dish, and she was talking to a person who worked in the store, and an elderly lady (65) used her hands to say for my mom to move out of the way. Then my mom was like "excuse me" and the old lady was like, "learn english, I meant to say move, and go back to the country you come from," and my mom said "I may be an immigrant but at least I am not white trash like you," and the lady said "ooh" and when my mom told me that story I also said that :P
So I was consoling my mother that she doesn't have an accent (I seriously can't hear it though). So did anyone else ever deal with racism before?
I remember the first time I encountered racism, when I was 6, and I remember thinking that, the lady was stupid, that's why I try to never be racist, and if I ever have racist thoughts, to remove them.
